Mumbai: Director Farah Khan has slammed the reports that she has approached actresses Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra for her upcoming movie Happy New Year (HNY). The choreographer-turned-director says that she will discuss with actor Shahrukh Khan and decide on whom to rope in for the movie.
Farah Khan had started working on the movie Happy New Year, immediately after Om Shanti Om. But then cracks began to appear between good friends Farah and Shahrukh, when SRK refused to feature in Farah's husband Shirish Kunder's film Tees Maar Khan. But they patched up and decided to work on the project post the incident of SRK beating up Shirish at a party.
Ever since they decided to come back on the track with Happy New Year, rumour mills have been busy speculating on cast and crew for the project. It was reported that Shahrukh Khan, John Abraham would play the male lead, while Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor's names were considered for female leads. Recently, gossip mills are abuzz that Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra are in talks for the movie.
In an exclusive interview to PTI, Farah Khan said, "We are not in talks with them (Sonakshi and Parineeti). We have not approached any one of them yet. I do meet Sonakshi regularly, she is beautiful and lovely. But we have not yet taken a call." She added, "Shahrukh has just come back from London so we need to sit and work out, figure out as to who is right for that role. It is a big role and then there is only one heroine in the film."
