Gabbar Singh set to return in 3D avatar

The character of Gabbar Singh in the movie Sholay is one of the most celebrated roles in Bollywood. The dialogues of this character are very popular even till today. Exactly 37 years after the release of super hit film, Gabbar Singh is set to hit the screens in 3D format. Yes! The movie will be re-released in a three dimensional version.

The blockbuster movie Sholay, which was directed by Ramesh Sippy and produced by GP Sippy, is now being converted to 3D format using conversion software developed for the movie. Reports suggest that 90 per cent of conversion works have already been completed. The film, which was released on August 15 in 1975, is expected to hit the screens afresh on the Independence Day in 2012 again.

However, Sholay was inspired by the Hollywood flick Magnificent Seven and it revolved around two criminals Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) and Veeru (Dharmendra), who were hired to capture the ruthless gangster Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan). Now, movie buffs can see Jai, Veeru and Gabbar in very brand new avatar.
