Genelia D'Souza defends herself in Rs 250 crore land scam

Bollywood's bubbly babe Genelia D'Souza, who has been entrapped in a land grabbing case, along with five others, defended herself. A disturbed Genelia said that she isn't involved in any such land scams.

Reportedly, a Hyderabad court directed the police to register an FIR against the actress, alleging that she has been involved in a land grabbing case worth of Rs 250 crores. Genelia's spokesperson said that the actress has nothing to do with properties in Hyderabad.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, her spokesperson said that “Genelia does not endorse or sit on the board of directors of any real estate brand currently." The actress had done a one-off campaign, a photo shoot six years back, even before the project started. But beyond this, the actress has no other connection with either the project or the company, he added.

One of the victims of the scam complained that Genelia, who is the brand ambassador and also one of the directors of M/s Anjaniputra Infrastructure Private Limited, allegedly made false promises through ads & brochures and directly cooperated with the other accused in grabbing his and others’ money.
