A glowing tribute to Boney Kapoor ex-wife Mona Kapoor

She was one of the most gracious, dignified and loving human beings in Hindi film industry. She always used to look at the positive side of her friends and colleagues in the industry. She was the CEO of Future Studios, the largest ready to shoot, fully furnished, indoor shooting studio in Mumbai. The person, about whom we are talking is none other than Mona Shourie Kapoor, ex-wife of Boney Kapoor, who passed away following her battle with cancer.

Mona Kapoor was born in Delhi, India on February 3 in 1964. She was the daughter of Sattee Shourie. She had two children from her marriage to Boney Kapoor - a son Arjun Kapoor and a daughter Anshula. After Boney Kapoor moved out of the house, she continued to live with her in-laws for 10 years. She lived with her two children until her death on 25th March 2012.

Mona Kapoor had produced several hit TV shows like Hera Pheri featuring Shekhar Suman, Reema Lagoo and Tanaaz Curim for Star Plus, Yug for Doordarshan, Wilayatee Babu for Doordarshan and Kaise Kahoon for Zee tv. Yug was widely acclaimed by both viewers as well as the media and sponsors. It is mega serial with the backdrop of the independence struggle and it boasts of an impressive star cast that includes Hema Malini and Dara Singh. It has been receiving several re-telecast requests in various regional languages too.

She was the woman behind the conceptualising the special programme Nari Ek Shakti on DD1 on the occasion of International Women's Day. Mona had also served as a Jury Member of the Indian Telly Awards in 2005.

Mona Kapoor had a multi-faceted career, she has successfully handled the manpower for Business Aids and Machine Exports, in which she is a partner. As a director of FCL, she has been the production co-ordinator for Mithun Chakrovarthy's films Sheesha and Farishtey starring Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Sridevi and Rajnikanth.

Mona Kapoor's Future Studios is known for its grandeur, finesse and quality in the film and television industry. It boasts of a clientele ranging from Balaji Telefilms, UTV, Cinevista, Tips Films, K Sera Sera, Sidhant cinevision, several filmmakers including Mahesh Bhatt, Ram Gopal Varma, Subhash Ghai, David Dhawan, Times Television, T-Series, Venus, Zee Telefilms, Sohail Khan productions.

Her sudden death has created a vast vied in both in film television industry. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning at Pavan Hans. We, at Oneindia, express our heart-felt condolences to Mona Kapoor's family and friends. May her departed soul rest in peace.
