Kangana Ranaut replaces Vidya Balan as John Abraham's girlfriend

Kangana Ranaut has replaced Vidya Balan in Shootout at Wadala. Kangna Ranaut has been roped in opposite John Abraham, who plays the male lead in the film.

Initially, Ekta Kapoor had considered Vidya Balan for the film, but later dropped the idea since Vidya wasn't sure whether she would want to do this role in the male-centric underworld drama. Vidya was supposed to play the role of John Abraham's girlfriend, who will be playing the notorious gangster Manya Surve.

Also, reports suggests that as soon as Kangana was offered the role, she accepted it without giving a second thought since she earlier acted in Balaji Motion Pictures post Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai.
