Katrina Kaif was the first choice for Barfi!

Actress Katrina Kaif has been the favourite of many Bollywood filmmakers. The same goes with the Barfi director Anurag Basu as well. If reports are to be believed, Katrina Kaif was the first choice for the Ranbir Kapoor starrer film Barfi.

Sources informed a leading daily that it was actually Katrina Kaif, who was the first choice for Ileana D'Cruz's role in the film Barfi. In fact, Anurag Basu was very keen on casting Katrina for the film. Talking to the daily, the director said that it's all about destiny. "Maybe this role was in Ileana's destiny, and she got it. She was an instinctive choice after Katrina, for this role."

Barfi is one of the much-awaited film of the year. The first theatrical trailer was officially launched on Monday night (2nd July, 2012). The trailer has garnered immense appreciation all over and has fetched an unprecedented three and a half lac views in a day itself. Barfi is all set to release on 14 September 2012.
