Om Puri admitted to hospital

Lucknow: Veteran actor Om Puri is suffering from typhoid and has been admitted to a private hospital here.

Om Puri, 61, who was shooting for a film Ram Bhajan Zindabad in Rahramau village in neighbouring Barabanki district, fell ill and was admitted to a city hospital yesterday, his co-actor Sharad Raj.

Speaking about the veteran, Sharad said, "Puri was admitted to the hospital with fever. The doctors said that he has typhoid. He further added that his condition is improving.

Puri will next be seen on the big screen in Prakash Jha's Chakravyuh, Priyadarshan's Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal and Mira Nair's The Reluctant Fundamentalist.
