Ranbir Kapoor to star in Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet

Rockstar Ranbir Kapoor is one of most sought after actor in Bollywood and now, director Anurag Kashyap has opted for him for the much-awaited film Bombay Velvet. The Bollywood filmmakers says that he likes his acting in most of his films till date and he really fits the role in his next movie.

Talking about Ranbir Kapoor, Anurag Kashyap says that he is really impressed with his performance in movies like Rockstar, Rocket Singh and few others. "He fits the role in Bombay Velvet. Moreover, he liked the role. With him I can rest easy with the kind of money involved in it,” PTI quotes the director as saying.

Bombay Velvet is based on 'Mumbai Fables', a semi-fictional study of Bombay in the sixties by eminent historian and Professor of History at Princeton University, Gyan Prakash. Anurag Kashyap says that Ranbir Kapoor has already gone through the story of the film. “He liked the script and hence he agreed to do the film," PTI quotes Anurag as saying.

It was reported recently that Ranbir Kapoor would pair opposite Anushka Sharma in the film. But Anurag Kashyap says that he has not yet decided on the actress. However, the filmmaker refused to divulge any details about the film or its genre or Ranbir's character. The film would on floors by the end of this year.
