Ranbir Kapoor (Rockstar) and Vidya Balan (The Dirty Picture) were judged as the best actor and best actress at the 57th Filmfare Awards. It was Zoya Akthar"s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara which walked away with most of the awards.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, starring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akthar, Katrina Kaif and Abhay Deol bagged 7 most popular awards - Best Film, Best Dialogue, Best Director, Best Movie (Critics), Best Supporting Actor (Farhan Akhtar), Best Choreography and Best Cinematography.
Rockstar, starring Ranbir Kapoor won 5 Filmfare awards - Best Actor, Best Actor (critics), Best Lyrics Award, Best Music Director and Best Playback (Male).
Rekha and Yash Chopra presented the best actor award to Ranbir Kapoor for Rockstar. On receiving the award, Ranbir said, “I've grown up wanting a Best Actor Award. This is my fourth award. Every dream seems to be becoming a reality. It feels great. Thank you Imtiaz. I love you, Sir. Thank you for giving me hope and inspiration. Thank you for giving me Rockstar. And I'll see you at the Movies."
Sridevi and Boney Kapoor presented the best actress award to Vidya Balan who said, “It has been a night where women have shone, This award goes out to the women in my life... This award goes out to every woman. And of course everyone on the team of The Dirty Picture especially Milan Luthria."
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was judged the best film and it was Madhuri Dixit who gave the award. The best Director award was conferred on Zoya Akhtar for the same film.
Akshat Verma bagged the best screenplay award for Delhi Belly. Ranbir Kapoor walked away again with the Best Actor (Critics) Award for his outstanding performance in Rockstar.
Priyanka Chopra walked away with Best Actress (Critics) Award for 7 Khoon Maaf. Rani Mukherjee won the Best Supporting Actor (Female) Award for No One Killed Jessica.
