Riteish Deshmukh's father Vilasrao Deshmukh dies

Chennai: Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh's father Vilasrao Deshmukh (former Maharashtra Chief Minister) dies on Tuesday at Global Hospital in Chennai. Vilasrao Deshmukh, who was 67 years, was suffering from multiple organ failure, had cirrhosis of liver and had dysfunctional kidneys.

Vilasrao Deshmukh was the Union minister and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Efforts to save Deshmukh became futile after a brain-dead man whose liver and kidney were to be transplanted, died hours before the transplant.

According to reports, Vilasrao Deshmukh's illness was diagnosed a year ago and to cure the disease, he also went for a surgery abroad. But he fell critically ill recently as both his kidneys stopped working. It was also reported that Vilasrao's star son Riteish Deshmukh wanted to donate part of his liver to his father to save his life.
