Dutt,
who
is
facing
the
charges
of
illegal
possession
of
a
rifle
in
connection
with
the
1993
bomb
blasts,
has
finally
admitted
meeting
underworld
don
Dawood
Ibrahim
once
at
a
dinner
that
was
hosted
by
him
in
Dubai.
The
actor
has
made
this
confessional
statement
in
the
Supreme
Court
of
India
on
Tuesday.
Sanjay
Dutt
had
challenged
a
trial
court
verdict
convicting
him
under
the
Arms
Act
and
awarding
him
sentence
of
six
years
for
possessing
weapons
illegally.
The
actor
had
given
a
confessional
statement
to
the
Central
Bureau
of
Investigation
(CBI)
in
connection
with
his
arrest
in
1993
bomb
blasts.
In
this
statement
he
had
mentioned
of
having
met
Dawood
Ibrahim.
The
Supreme
Court
queried
his
statement
during
the
hearing
on
his
appeal.
Senior
counsel
Harish
Salve,
appearing
for
Sanjay
Dutt
in
a
case
related
to
illegal
possession
of
a
rifle,
answered
the
questions
raised
by
the
court.
Salve
said
that
the
actor
had
met
the
don
along
with
two
film
producers
in
Dubai
where
he
had
hosted
a
dinner.
The
senior
counsel
added
the
dinner
related
to
the
period
prior
to
the
1993
serial
bomb
blasts
and
that
was
the
only
occasion
that
the
actor
met
the
don.
