Bollywood
director
Raj
Kanwar,
who
died
in
Singapore
on
February
3,
had
worked
as
an
assistant
to
filmmaker
Shekhar
Kapur.
While
attending
his
funeral,
Shekhar
Kapur,
who
was
shocked
by
his
sudden
death,
recalled
his
obsession
to
films
and
the
biggest
tragedy
in
his
life.
On
his
Twitter
page,
Shekhar
Kapur
wrote,
"At
funeral
of
Raj
Kanwar
who's
first
job
was
my
assistant
n
went
on
to
make
many
successful
films.
Still
remember
him
as
a
kid
obsessed
by
film.
15
members
of
Raj
Kanwar's
family
were
massacred
in
riots
after
Indira
Gandhi
assassination.
I
was
with
him
that
day
now
at
his
funeral."
However,
the
cremation
of
Raj
Kanwar
was
held
at
Andheri
in
Mumbai
on
5th
February
and
Shekhar
Kapur
was
one
among
the
big
celebrities
those
who
attended
his
funeral.
The
filmmaker
further
wrote,
"I
often
stay
at
funerals
long
after
people
have
left.
After
the
ritual
its
a
place
to
reflect
on
your
own
mortality."
