The recent tragic incident, where a 70 year old pavement dweller was crushed to death in Bandra by a Land Cruiser owned by Salman Khan's brother Sohail Khan, has yet again pushed the Khan brothers amidst trouble and controversies.
Reacting hard against the situation, Salman Khan has clearly stated that they won't be paying any compensation to the victim's family as they got to learn the fact that the victim's family had disowned her. "We are not paying any compensation to the family members of the victim as we got to know that her family had disowned her," Salman told IANS.
Khan further added that the accident was a "mistake". "I spoke to my driver and he said when he was driving, he saw something like a black polythene bag on the road, but it was the lady who was completely in black. I would request everyone not to sleep on the road," Salman said.
The accident took place on Sunday night, near St Andrews Church in Bandra. Sohail's driver Dhananjaya Pimpale was driving the car towards Sohail Khan's home in Galaxy apartments, when he hit Chandan Bala. Dhananjaya Pimpale was arrested by the police and subjected to an alcohol test which turned out to be negative. The police has booked Pimpale on charges of rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
