Sonakshi's song in OMG is a marketing gimmick: Akshay

Actress Sonakshi Sinha has worked with Akshay Kumar in his recent movies like Rowdy Rathore and Joker. Now, the actress has teamed up with him for the third time. She will be seen grooving to item song 'Go Go Govinda' for his movie Oh My God. The Khiladi feels that the number can be described as a marketing gimmick.

After the failure of Joker, Akshay Kumar has taken up the promotion of Oh My God and he is leaving no stone unturned to make sure its commercial success. In an interview to PTI, Akshay Kumar said, "I think yes one can say this. It can be a marketing gimmick. There is somebody performing a song during Gokul Ashtami. We requested Prabhu Deva and Sonakshi to do it and they agreed."

'Go Go Govinda' is a Janmashtmi number and it is the first item song of Sonakshi Sinha. This special song features ace choreographer-director Prabhu Deva with her. Akshay Kumar said, "There is no dancing and singing behind the trees. The film has wonderful music. There are meaningful songs."

Oh My God is is a 'divine' comedy based on a Gujarati play 'Kanji Viruddh Kanji' and it has been directed by Umesh Shukla. Akshay Kumar said, "I was surprised when I saw the play. I would want everybody to see the film. It is not a preachy movie. It is a fun and entertaining film but yet there is a layer in the film that will hit the audience."

As its his maiden film coming from his new production house Grazing Goat Pictures, Akshay Kumar is very excited about it. Oh My God will see him playing the role of modern-day God, riding a golden bike. Talking about his role, Akki gushed, "My look is kept modern as I have to move with everybody.. have to move with time. When God comes he will not show his identity. He is a normal God wearing normal clothes."
