If reports are to be believed, bollywood's most prolific on-screen couple, Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha, may reunite for a movie. The film we are talking about is Anees Bazmee's Welcome Back which is a sequel to the superhit Welcome, which released in 2008. Big B and Rekha have starred in many successful movies bu had stopped working together after the news of their affair surfaced.
The big question is what has prompted them to come together after a gap of almost 33 years. Is the script of Welcome Back that good or have they decided to put their past differences behind them. It has been reported that Rekha has given a nod to the movie but still has to sign the contract. Anees Bazmee will approach Big B and Rekha after completing the first schedule of the movie and will narrate their roles individually. When asked about it by the media, Bazmee said " I always had the desire to work with Amitabh and Rekha. I have told her about the film and she has said yes to the part but the formalities are still to be completed. I will meet her soon and then we will have a word on it." Amitabh would be reprising the role of RDX which was performed by Feroz Khan in the original and Rekha's role would be that of a high profile socialite. Click here to view images of Rekha.
John Abraham and Shruti Hassan would be playing the lead roles in the movie. Actors Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor are expected to reprise their roles of Uday Shankar Shetty and Majnu Bhai respectively from the prequel. Both Big B and Rekha haven't signed the film yet. The two actors have earlier worked together in superhit movies like Muqaddar Ka Sikander(1978), Mr Natwarlal(1979), Suhaag(1979) and Silsila(1981).
