Amitabh Bachchan makes India proud, addresses Cannes audience in Hindi

It is a proud moment for Indians and a great gesture by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who addressed the audience in Hindi at the Cannes Film Festival, 2013. Big B graced the Cannes event, by walking the red carpet, along with The Great Gatsby team.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, "Acknowledging Cannes in recognising 100 yrs of Indian Cinema, it was absolutely imperative for me to address, in my mother tongue." "Director of Cannes delighted to hear the 'music of the Hindi language' spoken, it brought in the universality of the occasion," he further wrote.

Amidst all this, we surely missed the Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was supposed to grace the event as well. Big B further cleared all speculations regarding bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, by tweeting, "Media tomorrow, and then wait for the 'bahurani' to arrive with 'bitiya', meet them and get on plane back to London and then home."
