Arjun Rampal Has No Grudge Against SRK

Rumours made their rounds that all is not well between actors Shahrukh Khan and Arjun Rampal after they had clash in the movie Ra.One. Shahrukh Khan reportedly cut short scenes of Arjun and this lead to a cold war. Now we have Rampal telling us that there is no such thing and he does not hold grudge against anybody.

Recently, when SRK threw an Eid party, Rampal was absent and this brought up more news that the two are having a cold war. However, Arjun's wife Mehr Jessia, who is Gauri Khan's close friend, made up for her husband's absence as she dropped in for the event.

Arjun Rampal defends himself that he was busy and that is the reason for his absence at Shahrukh's house. "People should get their facts correct. I would have loved to go to Shah Rukh's house but I was really stuck in work. But my wife did go for it, and that's it," Arjun said at an interview.

"I don't hold a bone of grudge against anybody in my life," he said when asked about the cold war with SRK. The 40-year-old is currently looking forward to his next release titled Satyagraha. The trailers of this Prakash Jha directed movie have already created a stir among the people. Satyagraha, which is set to release on August 30 is a multi-starrer film that has Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Amrita Rao, Vipin Sharma and Manoj Bajpai along with Arjun Rampal.

Arjun had recently told that working for Satyagraha was like ‘going back home'. The actor, who has worked with director Prakash Jha earlier in Rajneeti thinks highly of him. "He (Prakash Jha) asked me if I do this part as it is not that a bigger role but he needs this character. I told him even if you want me to say two lines in your film, I will surely do it," Rampal explained.

Story

There were speculations that Satyagraha is based on Anna Hazare movement and the Nirbhaya movement but the filmmaker has denied all such tags and tells us that all such current situations have been an inspiration and the movie has the essence of such issues. However, it is only fiction.

Arjun Rampal In Satyagraha

In Satyagraha, Arjun Rampal plays the role of a strong socially committed youth who becomes a politician. This character played by Arjun is connected at grassroots level. He becomes the muscle power of this revolution depicted in the film.

Arjun On His Character

Initially Arjun's role was not a major part in the film but later became an important character."While writing the character, it became a full-fledged part. He (Prakash Jha) realised this guy is going to be integral part of the screenplay. We need him as this is the character that influences. He is a youth leader who is ambitious," says Rampal about his character development.

Arjun’s Agenda For Directors

"Prakash is a person who will deliver what he has promised. I don't have to worry about anything. One would like to work with directors who don't make you feel insecure at any point of time," he said.

Comparsion To Arjun In Rajneeti

Arjun Rampal clarifies that his roles in Rajneeti and Satyagraha have no similarity. He said, "My characters in both the films are different. There is no similarity. Prithvi of Rajneeti comes from rich political background. He is selfish, wanting to create his party, and is power hungry. Whereas Arjun in Satyagraha is different. He is connected at grass root level. Though he is a bit volatile, he feels for the people. He becomes the muscle for this revolution."
