Deepika
Padukone,
Kareena
Kapoor
and
Saif
Ali
Khan
had
all
queued
up
to
become
brand
ambassadors
for
the
state
of
Goa
but
to
their
dismay
the
state
rejects
their
proposals.
Goa's
Tourism
Minister
Dilip
Parulekar
says
that
the
state
does
not
need
any
star
power
to
promote
itself.
Parulekar
said
Goa
was
already
a
celebrity
in
its
own
right
and
there
was
no
need
to
hunt
for
brand
ambassadors
for
publicity.
Apart
from
the
Bollywood
celebrities,
India's
biggest
cricketer
too
was
in
line
aiming
to
become
to
the
brand
ambassador
of
Goa.
"We
have
received
proposals
from
marketing
agencies
that
represent
actress
Deepika
Padukone,
Sachin
Tendulkar
or
Kareena
Kapoor
and
her
husband
Saif
(Ali
Khan),
to
sign
them
up
as
Brand
Ambassadors
for
Goa," Parulekar
said.
Goa,
which
is
one
of
the
hottest
tourist
destinations
in
India
is
famous
without
much
advertisement
and
the
state
government
was
not
keen
on
roping
in
any
celebrity
as
a
brand
ambassador
to
promote
this
hotspot."Our
image
is
such
that
any
tourist
will
choose
Goa
over
other
destinations,"
the
Minister
added.
A
couple
of
years
back,
Goa
has
already
experimented
with
hiring
brand
ambassadors
for
the
tourist
destination
when
they
roped
in
actress
Prachi
Desai
as
it's
brand
ambassador.
Well,
now
the
state
is
pretty
clear
on
the
matter.
