Deewana to return to Bollywood

Filmmaker Guddu Dhanoa is all geared up to bring back the passion and craziness to Bollywood. This producer-director is ready to take up Deewana, the 1992 hit film as his new project. The film starred Rishi Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and the late Divya Bharti. It was directed by Raj Kanwar and produced by Guddu Dhanoa and Lalith Kapoor.

"We are making a romantic film but it is a completely different story. We are using the title Deewana but something would be definitely added to the title. It is like how the Bhatts are making films like Murder, Jannat, I am also doing something similar," said Dhanoa who has made other films like Bichhoo, Big Brother and Kismat.

Dhanoa revealed that the script is ready and they are in search of a suitable star cast. "We are in talks with actors but nothing is finalised yet," he added. None of the cast for the film has been revealed yet.

The original Deewana is a musical romantic movie and it was the second highest grossing film of 1992. Deewana marked the entry of Guddu Dhanoa as a producer and Shah Rukh Khan as an actor. Although Shah Rukh Khan appears only in the second half of the movie, he was liked by the audiences and his fame began. This is the film with which the Badshah of Bollywood won his first Filmfare award.
