Films
are
known
to
be
inspired
from
many
sources-
sometimes
from
books,
sometimes
from
films
themselves.
We
heard
that
Imtiaz
Ali's
new
flick
Highway
is
an
updated
rehash
of
one
episode
in
his
own
Zee
TV
series
Rishtey.
The
TV
audience
who
still
remember
Rishtey
confirms
that
there
is
striking
similarity
between
the
TV
series
and
the
latest
film.
Imtiaz
Ali's
Highway
trailer,
released
recently,
has
created
a
wave
with
its
set
of
fresh
and
different
characters
and
exotic
settings.
Highway
features
young
and
beautiful
Alia
Bhat
and
Randeep
Hooda
and
falls
in
the
genre
of
Road
Movies,
which
is
a
fresh
step
in
Bollywood.
The
episode
in
question
narrated
the
story
of
a
girl
who
gets
kidnapped
just
before
her
marriage.
As
the
story
moves,
she
gets
emotionally
involved
with
gang
leader
who
kidnapped
her
and
thus
the
drama
evolves
!
Jab
We
Met
director
has
even
retained
the
names
of
the
characters
-
Vijay,
gang
leader
and
Veera,
the
kidnapped
girl.
He
said
that
Highway
is
the
story
of
two
people
who
are
opposite
poles
getting
united
by
fate'.
This
theme
seems
to
be
Ali's
favourite
as
his
Jab
We
Met
also
traveled
in
the
same
route.
In
director's
own
words
"
Yes,
There
was
this
episode
for
Rishtey
on
Zee
TV.
But
as
it
has
to
be
designed
as
just
one
episode,
I
had
to
tweak
it
into
a
duration
of
just
45
minutes
which
I
believe
is
very
less
time
for
such
a
story
to
evolve
itself.
I
always
believed
that
this
story
has
a
potential
to
become
a
full
blown
movie
and
it
should
be
told
in
a
bigger
scale.
I
am
happy
that
it
took
this
long
for
me
to
make
it
into
a
feature
film
because
by
this
time,
I
understand
the
characters
and
their
story
much
better
now
and
is
in
a
better
position
to
make
it
too".
The
trailer
of
Highway
has
made
waves
among
movie
buffs.
Peppered
with
the
beauty
of
scenic
locations
and
seasoned
with
the
thrill
of
a
long
highway
ride,
Highway
looks
like
a
yummy
filmy
dish
!
