Dey,
the
legendary
Indian
playback
singer,
passed
away
today
at
the
age
of
94.
He
was
suffering
from
chest
infection
for
quite
sometime
and
was
in
and
out
hospital
few
times
in
the
past.
His
demise
is
a
huge
loss
to
the
Indian
film
industry.
His
remains
were
brought
at
the
Samsa
open
air
theatre
at
the
Ravindra
Kalak
Shetra
so
that
the
public
can
pay
their
respects
to
the
iconic
singer.
His
son-in-law
was
in
the
car
which
was
transporting
his
body
from
the
hospital
and
his
daughter,
Sumitha
Deb,
was
following
them
in
a
different
car.
His
close
friends
and
family
were
the
first
to
arrive
after
hearing
the
news
about
his
passing
away.
Many
of
the
famous
singer
from
the
Kannada
industry
like
Shomoga
Subbanna,
YK
Muddukrishna
and
Hindustani
vocalist
Sangeetha
Katti
Kulkarni,
Archana
Udupa
and
MP
&
theatre
personality
B
Jayashree
were
present
to
pay
their
last
respects.
Film
actor
Tara
and
renowned
director
KSL
Swamy,
also
came
to
bid
adieu
to
the
legendary
singer.
Manna
was
living
in
Bangalore
with
his
daughter,
Sumitha.
She
says
that
he
used
to
love
her
cooking
and
called
her
Chum
Chum,
which
she
is
going
to
miss
a
lot
now.
She
later
placed
a
rose
on
his
dead
body
which
was
taken
to
the
Hebbal
crematorium
in
Bangalore.
