My friendship with Ranbir gets better with age, says Deepika Padukone

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone says that her friendship with Ranbir only gets better with age. Ranbir Kapoor admits people find it weird that he feels comfortable to work on screen with his former girlfriend Deepika Padukone. But he says it comes naturally to him, and it is absolutely normal.

Deepika compared their friendship with wine. "Our friendship only gets better with age. We have been friends for very long time," the model-turned-actress told reporters at a promotional press conference for the movie here on Friday.

Having worked together in the forthcoming Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ranbir says it wasn't a new beginning for them, but a continuation of their friendship.

Ranbir said, "I think our friendship began long back. So there is no beginning. There is a continuation. For Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, people are saying, 'How can he (I) work with someone like Deepika, with whom he (I've earlier) had a relationship?'"

"These are things which come very naturally to me," Ranbir added.

Deepika made her Bollywood debut in 2007 opposite Shahrukh Khan in Om Shanti Om, Ranbir forayed into showbiz in the same year with Saawariya.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which is releasing on May 31, is directed by Ayan Mukerji.
