When
we
hear
the
word
Besharam,
it's
a
negative
connotation
that
pops
into
her
heads
because
the
word
literally
means
'shameless'.
However,
the
cast
and
crew
of
the
recently
released
Besharam
have
portrayed
this
word
in
a
positive
light
in
their
film.
Because
of
this
title,
we
may
expect
to
see
lead
actor
Ranbir
Kapoor
as
the
anti
hero
but
the
makers
surprise
us.
Ranbir
plays
the
role
of
Babli,
a
protagonist
with
a
happy-go-lucky
attitude.
The
makers
feel
that
this
will
make
audiences
connect
with
the
positive
aspects
of
the
term.
"It's
not
about
doing
vulgar
things
or
getting
nude.
It's
about
following
your
instincts
and
doing
what
you
feel
like
doing,
not
what
you
are
forced
to
do," explained
Ranbir.
"The
film's
message
hits
bullseye.
My
character
doesn't
fear
criticism.
He
couldn't
care
less
for
appreciation.
He
does
what
has
to
be
done.
Yeh
character
sochkar
karta
nahin,
aur
karke
sochta
nahin,"
added
Ranbir.
Although
the
movie
has
not
received
very
good
reviews
from
the
critics,
Ranbir
feels
that
the
audiences
can
connect
to
his
character
in
Besharam.
"All
I
can
say
is
that
a
lot
of
people
would
relate
to,
or
perhaps,
find
this
character
full
of
life
and
fun.
He
has
a
few
endearing
qualities,
which
might
make
him
more
acceptable,"
Ranbir
said.
The
reason
why
director
Abhinav
Kashyap
cast
Ranbir
for
this
role
is
because
of
the
actor's
attitude
and
approach
to
work.
Kashyap
said
he
liked
the
way
Ranbir
conducts
himself
in
public,
the
way
he's
pursuing
his
ambitions,
etc.
