Amish
Tripathi's
The
Immortals
Of
Meluha
will
finally
be
adapted
into
a
movie.
Karan
Johar
had
bought
the
rights
of
the
book
quite
a
while
back
but
could
not
start
the
project
because
of
prior
commitments.
And
now,
according
to
rumours,
the
role
of
Shiva
will
be
played
by
none
other
than
the
current
heartthrob
of
the
nation,
Ranbir
Kapoor.
Karan
Johar
had
given
the
mantle
of
making
the
movie
to
Ayan
Mukerji,
who
convinced
his
good
friend,
Ranbir
to
come
on
board.
"Karan,
Ayan
and
Ranbir
have
earlier
worked
together
and
the
result
was
the
megahit
Yeh
Jawaani
Hai
Deewani.
The
trio
have
been
successful
together
before
and
there
is
no
doubt
this
time
will
be
any
different.
Ayan
had
informed
Karan
of
his
choice
and
he
readily
agreed
to
it.
The
star
power
of
Ranbir
Kapoor
guarantees
the
success
of
the
movie.
Ayan
has
already
started
working
on
the
book
to
make
it
into
a
screenplay."
,
a
source
was
quoted
by
a
tabloid.
Earlier
it
was
reported
that
the
role
of
Shiva
will
be
portrayed
by
Hrithik
Roshan
but
things
couldn't
materialize.
Hrithik
has
now
signed
Shuddhi,
which
is
being
produced
under
Karan
Johar's,
Dharma
Production.

For
those
of
you,
who
haven't
heard
about
The
Immortals
Of
Meluha,
it
is
a
fictional
account
on
the
life
of
Lord
Shiva.
The
concept
of
the
book
is
that
all
gods
at
one
point
were
human
beings
and
it
is
their
deeds
in
human
life
which
have
made
them
famous
as
gods.
The
book
is
the
first
part
of
a
trilogy
and
was
followed
by
The
Secret
Of
The
Nagas
and
The
Oath
Of
The
Vayuputras.
