Why Ranveer Singh felt frustrated initially while doing Lootera?

role

upcoming
Lootera,
he
was
initially
frustrated
as
he
felt
he
could
not
do
justice
to
the
character
in
this
period
romance
drama
film.
Directed
by
Vikramaditya
Motwane,
the
film
will
take
the
viewers
back
in
the
world
of
1950s.
"In
my
earlier
films,
I
have
always
been
high
on
energy...smiling.
But
I
am
happy
I
got
to
attempt
something
different
with
Lootera.
Initially,
I
was
frustrated.
I
felt
I
couldn't
do
this
character.
I
couldn't
get
it
right.
It
was
Vikram,
who
convinced
me
that
I
could
do
it...all
thanks
to
him," Ranveer
told
reporters
at
the
first
look
launch
of
the
film.
Ranveer
made
his
debut
in
2010
with
Yash
Raj
Films'
Band
Baaja
Baaraat,
which
was
set
in
the
world
of
wedding
planning
and
he
played
a
typical
Delhi
guy.
In
his
next
film
Ladies
vs
Ricky
Bahl,
he
played
a
con
artist.
Both
the
films
were
set
in
the
contemporary
times.
But
Lootera
is
set
in
Bengal
of
1950s.
"In
the
film
I
play
an
intense
lover.
I
have
also
cried
in
the
film,"
he
said.
Ranveer
will
be
seen
opposite
Sonakshi
Sinha
in
the
film
and
the
actor
is
all
praises
for
her.
"It
was
good
working
with
her.
From
her,
I
have
learnt
not
to
get
hyper
and
stressed
and
remain
calm,"
he
said.
The
film
is
produced
by
Ekta
Kapoor's
Balaji
Motion
Pictures
and
Phantom
Films,
which
is
floated
by
four
prominent
filmmakers
-
Anurag
Kashyap,
Vikramaditya
Motwane,
Vikas
Bahl
and
Madhu
Mantena.
The
film
is
scheduled
to
release
on
5
July.
