2002 Hit-And-Run Case: Salman in legal soup for leaking case information

Yet another legal complaint has been slapped against superstar Salman Khan. And this time, the actor got into deep trouble for posting information about the ongoing 2002 Hit-And-Run case on his website.

A leading daily reported that a social activist has filed a complaint in a local court against Salman Khan for revealing all the information about the 2002 Hit-And-Run case on his newly launched website www.salmankhanfiles.com. The activist told the daily that one cannot spread information on internet about an ongoing legal case. As per the Indian Law, this is a violation of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971.

According to the activist, he had to move to the magistrates court, after the Bandra police station refused to register a complaint against the actor. On June 26, Salman launched his own website which would give all the details regarding the court cases involving the actor. The landing page of Salman Khan's website says, "Certain court cases are filed against me. There is widespread media reporting of these cases. The reports are sometimes inaccurate and misleading, and cause damage to my reputation, both personal and professional."
