Sanjay Dutt gets five years jail sentence in 1993 Mumbai blast case

serve
a
five-year
jail
sentence
in
the
1993
Mumbai
blast
case.
The
Supreme
Court
of
India
has
given
the
actor
a
period
of
one
month
to
surrender
himself.
Sanjay
Dutt
has
already
spent
18
months
in
jail
earlier
and
now
he
will
have
to
spend
the
remaining
three
years
and
six
months
in
jail.
Sanjay
Dutt
was
sentenced
to
six
year
jail
term
by
a
TADA
court
in
the
1993
blasts
case.
During
this
trial,
he
had
spent
18
months
behind
the
bars.
Dutt
was
sentenced
to
six
years
in
jail
for
illegal
possession
of
9
mm
pistol
and
an
AK-56
rifle
by
the
trial
court.
However,
he
was
also
acquitted
of
more
serious
terror
charges
under
the
Terrorists
and
Disruptive
Activities
(Prevention)
Act.
In
the
year
1993,
multiple
blast
took
place
in
Mumbai
in
which
257
people
were
killed
and
713
were
injured.
