Jail Authorities Give Sanjay Dutt Another 2 Weeks Of Furlough

By Sahaja

From October 1, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been on a 14-day furlough from the Yerawada Central Jail. The actor had only one more day left outside the jail, after which he was supposed to head back to the prison located in Pune. Dutt has sought the jail to give him another 14 days of furlough due to health reasons. The latest news is that the Yerawada prison authorities have granted him the furlough extension.

The 53-year-old actor is currently on a furlough because he had to get his leg treated. With his new request of furlough extension, the jail authorities came to the conclusion today, October 14.

Many tend to say that Sanjay Dutt is on a parole but just to clarify, in legal terms this is called a furlough and not a parole as it has not been granted by the court but by the jail authorities.

Dutt is in the Yerawada jail as he is serving a 42-month sentence. He was convicted for his role in the 1993 Mumbai blasts as he possessed illegal weapons.

The actor has spent three months in jail and will have to go back as per the jail's order after another 2 weeks of furlough. Do come back to our site for more updates on Sanjay Dutt.
