Emraan Hashmi Is A Conman In His Next Film Shaatir

Emraan Hashmi's upcoming movie had a title issue and now that's solved. All credit goes to Rohit Shetty. The UTV Motion Pictures and director Kunal Deshmukh have finally zeroed in on the title Shaatir for their thriller film. The movie stars Emraan Hashmi as a conman.

The makers of the movie faced trouble regarding the title because it already belonged to Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd when they checked to register in the same name. This was a huge cause of concern for the makers. Incidentally, when UTV officials had met Rohit Shetty for a casual meeting since the two are working on Chennai Express, the topic about the title popped up.

Luckily for UTV Motion Pictures, Rohit Shetty has an exceptional relationship with Ashtavinayak because of the super hit Golmaal series with them. So Rohit agreed to speak to the production company, and helped settle the concern.

The makers were grateful to Rohit's help. It got them what they wanted. "Rohit was extremely helpful, he immediately spoke to Ashtavinayak and helped us get the title from them," said Manish Hariprasad, creative director, Disney-UTV.

The production seems very happy to have Emraan Hashmi back with them for another film. "We're very excited with our next production which is now called Shaatir. This will be Emraan's second film with us and we are looking forward to work with him on something he has not played before and he is also very excited about playing a character of a 'Shaatir' conman," Hariprasad added.
