Shahrukh Khan Talks About The Late Yash Chopra

Shahrukh is known as the king of romance but there is another man with whom he has to share the title, i.e Yash Chopra. Yash Chopra was one of the most renowned and respected filmmaker of his time. He has directed timeless classics and have set a benchmark in bollywood for romantic films. On his 81st birthday, the first post his demise, Shahrukh opened up his heart and talked about the late director at length.

Shahrukh said that he learned a lot about cinema from Chopra and that the filmmaker was a guide and a mentor to him. " He told me that it is important not to curb my creativity as I would not be happy with the kind of movies produced. He told me to always follow my heart and not worry about the end result. Yashji said that if the film work's it's good and if they don't, then it's also good as you would not be regretting that you could have done something different. He also gave me some great production tips, like controlling the cost of the movies I produce and never to go over board. I feel proud to have been associated with such a fearless filmmaker and I can say with great pride that I have starred in maximum of Yashji's films. From Darr to Jab Tak Hai Jaan it has been an amazing journey." the 47 year old actor said at an event.

Shahrukh Khan's first movie and major hit with Yash Chopra was Darr in which he played a obsessive lover and then went on to star in the late director's Dil To Pagal Hai, Veer Zaara, and finally his swan song Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
