Babul Supriyo In Trouble For Allegedly Entering Temple Drunk

It looks like Babul Supriyo has earned the ire of religious activists. The Bollywood singer, whose songs are quite popular, has stood for the upcoming elections on a BJP ticket from West Bengal. But, he is alleged to have entered a temple in drunk condition. And taking serious note of this alleged violation, the Asansol Citizens Forum, West Bengal has forwarded a petition against the singer.

However along expected lines, Supriyo was quick to refute this allegation when he shot back saying, "I don't even drink when I'm in parties! Where does the question of visiting a temple in a drunken state came from? On April 1, I found a mysterious post made at 4.31 pm on my Facebook profile stating that I was drinking Vodka."

Supriyo indicated that he replied in 'jest' to the post on the social media portal which had alleged that he was drinking in the afternoon, when ideally he should have been busy in canvassing for the forthcoming polls.

He emphatically declared that the entire world is well aware that he doesn't consume alcohol one bit. However, he is pretty sure that this is a political maneuvre from his adversaries to stain his clean image prior to polls.

A person named Sanjay Singh from Damra village representing Asansol Municipal Corporation Forum filed a police complaint on Supriyo. Following this, Trinamool leader and Asansol Municipal Corporation Chairman Jitendra Tiwary sent a letter to the Additional District Magistrate to investigate the allegation on the singer.

Supriyo now intends to file a defamation case of Rs.2 crores on the duo for the public distress caused to him by their false allegation.
