She might have worked really hard to get a well-toned, tough body to get into the skin of Mary Kom's character. The gorgeous actress is playing the Olympic medal-winning boxer on screen in the upcoming biopic film Mary Kom. But Priyanka Chopra would not have bargained for burgeoning crowds that sent her as well as her whole crew into a tizzy.
With her shooting of the biopic almost nearing completion, Priyanka was seen to be pretty satisfied with her efforts. The sets were put up in Manali for shooting the movie. But, some days back, the crew had to abandon the shoot for a few hours due to the rapidly surging crowd that kept on pouring around the sets to catch a glimpse of the former Miss World beauty.
Speaking on the matter, a unit source said, "A setting had been erected in Manali to resemble that of Darjeeling. The shooting for the last few weeks had proceeded without any hassles. The final phase of the shoot is currently underway, and for one of the scenes, we had to shoot it in a market region."
"As the region is not highly inhabited, we thought there wouldn't be any problem to shoot the scenes there. Hence, we had not organized a great deal of security for this." he added.
However, they were in for a rude shock when what they didn't expect occurred. As soon as people got wind of the fact that a shoot was taking place amid them, they thronged by the thousands. "Over 10,000 people surrounded the crew and the small security personnel were hugely outnumbered. When Priyanka came out of the van, some over-zealous fans attempted to corner her."
"Eventually, we had to abandon the shoot and disperse quickly from there. After almost four hours, the region was cleared and we sought additional security. Due to this frenzy, half the day was wasted," rued the source.
Well, our Piggy Chops surely seems to have too huge a fan following for her comfort!
