Filmfare Awards 2014: Actress Tanuja Receives Life Time Achievement Award From Amitabh!

Filmfare Awards 2014 gives away the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to Yester Year's Actress Tanuja. She received this award by none other than the legend Amitabh Bachchan.

The Lifetime Achievement Awards are considered as the most prestigious awards and are given to the actor or actress for their outstanding contribution to the Indian Cinema Industry. This year Tanuja who is the mother of Kajol and Tanisha is awarded by this Lifetime Achievement Trophy.

Tanuja is remembered for her roles in Hindi films like Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi , Jewel Thief, Haathi Mere Saathi and Anubhav.

Considered as the most gorgeous actress of her Tanuja also made her appearance in Marathi, Bengali and Gujarati films like, Zaakol, Pitruroon (Marathi), Naari tu Narayani'(Gujarati), and several Bengali films such as Antony Phiringee, Deya Neya, Teen Bhuvaner Parey (1969), Prothom Kadam Phool, and Rajkumari.

The Bengali Bala started her film career with her older sister Nutan in Hamari Beti (1950) as Baby Tanuja.She later made her debut in the film Chhabili (1960) which was directed by her mother and had her sister, Nutan, in the lead.

The film that truly marked her transition into adult heroine came with Hamari Yaad Aayegi (1961), directed by Kidar Sharma, who had earlier discovered Raj Kapoor, Madhubala and Geeta Bali.

With being able to work in more than hundred movies and getting awarded for many this lady has surely set a bench mark for all the actresses of today who can only dream of becoming like the veteran Tanuja Mukherjee.
