Filmfare 2014: Farhan Akhtar Wins Best Actor Award For Bhaag Milka Bhaag

Farhan Akhtar has scored a hattrick. After winning the Best Actor Award in the recent Star Guild and Life OK Awards, the actor has now added another prestigious award to his kitty.

Farhan Akhtar has won the Best Actor Award at Idea Filmfare Awards 2014 for his performance in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The actor had wowed the cine-goers with his mind blowing performance in the movie, which had received rave reviews from the critics.

Farhan Akhtar had faced the tough competition from other contenders but finally it was he, who was awarded as the Best Actor of 2013 in the event. Dhanush for Raanjhanaa, Hrithik Roshan for Krrish 3, Ranbir Kapoor for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ranveer Singh for Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela and Shahrukh Khan for Chennai Express were the other actors, who were nominated under the Best Actor category.

Farhan essayed the role of Milka Singh in the biopic movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. It was based on the real life story of National Champion runner and Olympian, Milka Singh, and inspired from the book ‘The race of my life,' which was written by Milka Singh and his daughter. The movie directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra had Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Pawan Malhotra, Yograj Singh and Prakash Raj in the significant roles.
