Is Rahasya Inspired By Aarushi Talwar's Murder?

By Super

Aarushi Talwar's (the 14-year-old who was brutally murdered in her house in 2008) parents Nupur and Rajesh Talwar have approached the Bombay High Court to stay on the release of the film Rahasya. The Talwars claim that the movie is based on distorted facts of the murder of their daughter Aarushi.

Nupur and Rajesh Talwar, who are serving life imprisonment after being convicted for the murder of their daughter Aarushi by a UP court claim that Rahasya, starring Sakshi Sem in the lead portrays the murder of Aarushi in a wrong light.

19-year-old Sakshi Sem, who is playing the lead in the film Rahasya is quite upset with this and defended the film told Mirror, "Rahasya is not based on the Aarushi murder case per se. So, I don't understand the Talwars' objection to the film. It doesn't end with Kay Kay, who plays my father, being convicted for the murder. The actress playing my mother is not an accused."

Rajesh and Nupur Talwar sent a legal notice to Gupta and UVI Films Production Ltd on February 17 for screening the film in private. They then filed a petition in the high court when the filmmakers didn't respond. The Talwars have also challenged the Central Board of Film Certification for clearing the film. Rahasya, directed by writer-director Manish Gupta, stars Kay Kay Menon, Tisca Chopra, Ashish Vidyarthi, Mita Vashisht, Sakshi Sem and Ashwini Kalsekar.

The film's story centres around a couple whose only child, a teenaged girl, has been murdered in her sleep inside their large duplex apartment.
