John
Abraham
will
be
producing
and
acting
in
a
film
based
on
Kawas
Manekshaw
(KM)
Nanavati,
a
Naval
Commander's
real-life
murder
case,
that
took
place
way
back
in
the
year
1959.
KM
Nanavati
case
was
one
of
the
most
sensational
case
heard
in
the
court
of
Indian
law.
Many
Bollywood
films
have
been
inspired
from
the
case,
and
now
our
very
own
macho
John
Abraham
has
decided
to
produce
and
even
play
the
role
of
KM
Nanavati
in
the
film.
Vipul
K
Rawal,
who
wrote
the
script
for
Nagesh
Kukunoor's
film,
Iqbal
has
written
the
script
for
this
film
too.
As
per
sources,
John
Abraham
is
extremely
excited
about
playing
the
part
of
KM
Nanavati.
There
was
a
rumour
that
a
producer
had
approached
John
Abraham
with
this
script
before,
but
he
turned
it
out
since
he
was
not
being
paid
enough.
Anyways,
John
has
now
stepped
up
to
produce
the
film
all
by
himself
since
he
thinks
it's
a
wonderfully
written
script
since
Rawal
had
conducted
an
extensive
research
on
the
subject.
The
actor
has
already
bought
the
rights
to
produce
the
film
and
will
essay
the
role
of
a
naval
officer.
KM
Nanavati
was
tried
for
the
murder
of
his
wife
Sylvia
Nanavati's
lover
Prem
Ahuja
and
was
the
talk
of
the
town
in
the
60's.
RK
Nayyar's
suspense
thriller
Yeh
Raaste
Hain
Pyaar
Ke,
starring
Sunil
Dutt,
Leela
Naidu
and
Rehman
was
based
on
this
case.
In
fact,
Soni
Razdan
and
Anurag
Kashyap
too
had
worked
on
similar
projects,
but
there
was
never
any
official
announcement.
