The
legendary
19th
century
painter
Raja
Ravi
Varma
is
the
role
essayed
by
Randeep
Hooda
in
Rang
Rasiya.
He
says
that
Rang
Rasiya
will
boost
his
movie
career.
The
character
of
the
legendary
painter
is
played
in
two
parts
by
the
actor.
First
as
a
60-year
old
and
then
as
20-year
old.
"I
think
this
film
will
be
one
of
the
landmark
films
of
my
career.
I
have
worked
very
hard
for
this
film.
It
is
a
very
special
film
and
hopefully
the
audience
will
also
enjoy
watching
me
in
this
avatar," Randeep
said.
The
movie
directed
by
Ketan
Mehta
is
an
adaptation
of
Marathi
writer
Ranjit
Desai's
biographical
novel
Raja
Ravi
Varma.
Although
the
film
was
screened
at
the
2008
London
Film
Festival,
it
was
in
post-production
stage
since
then
due
to
the
Censor
Board's
objection
with
certain
bold
scenes.
Rang
Rasiya
will
release
on
November
7
and
Randeep
feels
that
the
audience
are
more
accepting.
"This
movie
has
had
such
a
big
struggle
be
it
with
its
release
and
content.
I
am
glad
that
this
film
is
releasing
now
because
had
it
come
out
before,
it
would
have
been
ahead
of
its
time.
Ravi
Varma
is
a
huge
icon
in
our
country
but
people
are
unaware
of
him
and
his
contribution
to
arts
and
culture
besides
giving
face
to
our
gods
and
goddesses.
Through
this
movie
I
am
sure
that
they
will
be
inspired
by
the
story
of
the
great
artist,"Randeep
added.
Randeep
Hooda
had
an
eventful
year
2014
by
giving
hits
like
Highway
and
Kick.
The
actor
will
be
seen
in
Karan
Johar
produced
Ungli
besides
Rang
Rasiya,
which
will
be
out
on
November
28.
"I
would
like
to
think
that
this
is
the
best
phase
of
my
career
so
far
but
not
the
epitome
of
my
career," said
Randeep,
who
will
also
be
seen
playing
serial
killer
Charles
Sobhraj
in
Main
Aur
Charles.
