It’s Confirmed: Ranveer Singh And Deepika In Shuddhi

Finally, it's confirmed! Karan Johar's latest production Shuddhi has Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead. There were rumours making rounds about the casting of the film. It was first reported that ex lovers Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor will be doing Shuddhi. If Hrithik and Kareena were to do this film, it would have been their reunion after 2003 film Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.

It is rumoured that Hrithik stopped signing films with Kareena because his father barred him from working with her as he could see two of them getting closer to each other. It is believed that Papa Roshan did that to save Hrithik's new married life with Sussanne Roshan. It is believed that Duggy and Kareena were the first choices of Karan Johar.

The film has a very unique plot that has a concept of re-birth. Considering the last two films of Kareena were not great at box office, casting Deepika Padukone, who is now the reigning box office queen, is really a wise decision on Karan's part. The last two films of Kareena Kapoor Khan were Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and Satyagraha and both of them didn't help to enhance her brand value.

On the other hand, Ranveer and Deepika had a blockbuster hit, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic action thriller Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela. Shuddhi will be their third film together, after Ram Leela and Finding Fanny Fernandes.
