The
media
in
the
country
made
a
lot
of
furore
when
Salman
Khan
visited
Gujarat
CM
Narendra
Modi
and
participated
in
the
kite
flying
festival
of
Gujarat
with
him
on
last
Makar
Sankranthi
Day.
A
lot
of
people
speculated
that
it
was
Modi's
idea
to
bring
in
Salman
Khan
to
say
something
good
about
him
and
thus
tap
Salman's
fan
base
for
him
in
the
upcoming
election.
But
Salman
clarifies
that
the
truth
is
far
away
from
it.
It
is
Salman
who
voluntarily
went
to
Gujarat,
to
promote
his
upcoming
action
flick
Jai
Ho.
There
were
a
lot
of
reasons
for
the
visit
and
Dabangg
Khan
explains
each
one
of
it
in
detail
in
a
recent
interview
with
NDTV
senior
editor
Burkha
Dutt.
He
clarified
that
he
went
to
Gujarat
only
to
promote
his
film
Jai
Ho.
He
says,
" we
went
there
to
promote
Jai
Ho.
Gujarat
is
a
big
market
and
we
need
to
tap
that
market.It
was
a
part
of
our
promotion
strategies."
He
also
said
that
the
film's
heroine,
Daisy
Shah,
whom
he
introduced
to
Bollywood
through
this
film,
is
a
Gujarathi,
too.
He
opined
that
Jai
Ho
is
a
common
man's
film
and
the
ticket
prices
have
to
be
at
an
affordable
cost.
He
further
clarified,
"We
wanted
to
make
our
film
Jai
Ho
tax
free
because
the
rates
in
the
theatres
are
really
high.
Jai
Ho
is
a
film
that
deserves
to
be
tax
free
and
it
is
in
the
hands
of
Modi,
the
chief
minister.
That's
why
I
went
there".
As
the
story
of
Jai
Ho
is
about
the
common
man's
uprising
against
corruption
and
injustice,
he
feels
that
everybody
should
be
able
to
watch
the
movie
in
an
affordable
rate,
which
is
a
glorious
step
no
Bollywood
superstar
took
before
in
the
history.
Salman,
apparently,
is
the
first
superstar
who
tried
to
get
his
film
reach
to
public
in
an
affordable
rate.
