Sanjay
Dutt
who
is
currently
out
in
parole
would
be
going
back
to
Yerwada
jail
in
Pune
as
his
parole
ends
today.
He
is
currently
serving
the
remaining
42
months
of
his
sentence
for
illegal
possession
of
arms
in
a
case
related
to
the
1993
serial
blasts.
Sanjay
Dutt
was
earlier
released
on
one-month
parole
from
Pune's
jail
on
December
21,
2013.
It
was
later
extended
till
February
21,
2013.
Sanjay
Dutt
had
cited
his
wife
Maanyata's
ill
health
as
reason
and
had
applied
for
extension.
Maanyata
Dutt
reportedly
suffers
with
a
tumour
in
her
liver.
This
unreasonable
extension
of
parole
was
not
appreciated
by
many
and
they
even
cited
that
he
gets
a
special
treatment
as
he
is
an
actor.
Today
when
he
goes
back
to
the
Yerwada
jail,
" he
would
have
spent
118
days
out
of
jail
from
the
305
days
from
May
last
year.
He
can
again
apply
for
furlough
and
parole
from
May
this
year,
which
we
think
he
will.
Of
these
118
days,
14
days
of
the
extended
parole
will
not
be
counted
in
his
sentence
and
he
will
have
to
serve
it
later,"
said
a
senior
prisons
department
officer.
"Several
other
inmates,
including
those
serving
for
even
very
serious
crimes,
are
granted
paroles
and
subsequent
extensions.
It's
just
that
his
case
has
attracted
attention
as
he
is
a
celebrity," the
officer
said.
The
Supreme
Court
had
announced
a
five-year
prison
term
in
2013
and
he
has
already
served
18
months
of
his
jail
term.
Sanjay
dutt
was
taken
to
Yerwada
jail
in
Pune
after
he
surrendered
before
a
Special
Court.
The
jail
authorities
in
Pune
have
said
that
Sanjay
Dutt's
parole
ends
on
March
21
and
as
per
the
rules
he
gets
to
travel
one
day
to
reach
and
should
be
back
by
Saturday,
March
22.
Sanjay
Dutt
has
spent
118
days
out
of
prison
of
the
303
days
of
jail
term,
either
on
parole
or
furlough.
