Star Guild Awards 2014: Why Shahid Kapoor Thanked Salman Khan?

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who is basking in the success of his recent release R... Rajkumar, says that many actors in B-Town want to thank Salman Khan for not releasing a single movie in the year 2013. The Phata Poster Nikhla Hero star made this statement during the distribution of Renault Star Guild Awards 2014 held in Mumbai on Thursday night (January 16).

Superstar Salman Khan, who was the host on the Star Guild Awards ceremony, called Shahid Kapoor on stage to present Best Choreography award to Remo D'souza for 'Badtameez Dil...' and 'Balam Pichkari...' from the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Both actors performed dance for the tunes of chartbuster song 'Agal Bagal' from the movie Phata Poster Nikhla Hero.

Before handing over the Best Choreography award to Remo D'souza, Shahid Kapoor addressed the event and said that lot of actors want to thank Salman Khan for not having any release last year. However, both actors, who were once staunch enemies, looked very cordial to each other in this award ceremony.

It should be recalled here that Salman Khan had fallen out with Shahid Kapoor, when the latter offered him some professional help in 2006. Salman was apparently very furious over Shahid's immature move and had even tried to get him ousted from the show Rockstars. When his attempt did not work, he himself opted out of the film Milenge Milenge, in which he was to perform a cameo (song).

Kareena Kapoor had tried to sort out the issue, but unfortunately she could not do it. For a few years, these actors were not in talking terms and they had been reportedly avoiding each other on several occasion. However, they have made up and hugged each other. Recently, Shahid Kapoor had appeared on Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss 7 to promote his film Phata Poster Nikhla Hero.
