Director
Karan
Johar
who
is
all
set
to
make
his
acting
debut
in
the
upcoming
flick
Bombay
Velvet,
says
that
this
movie
has
made
his
late
father,
Yash
Johar's
dream
come
true
and
thanked
Anurag
Kashyap
for
this.
The
movie
Bombay
Velvet
has
been
directed
by
Anurag
Kashyap
in
which
Karan
Johar
will
be
first
time
seen
as
a
full
fledged
actor
and
this
Karan
claims
to
have
been
the
dream
of
his
father.
"My
father
thought
I
should
be
an
actor
but
I
didn't.
Thank
you
Anurag
Kashyap
for
fulfilling
my
dad's
wish," tweeted
Karan.
It
is
to
mention,
Karan
has
made
some
short
appearances
in
films
like
Dilwale
Dulhania
Le
Jayenge,
Fashion
and
Luck
By
Chance
but
this
is
the
first
time
that
Karan
will
be
playing
a
seasoned
role
in
a
film
and
hence
it
can
be
considered
as
his
acting
debut.
In
the
movie
Bombay
Velvet,
Karan
will
play
the
role
of
an
antagonist
who
is
a
rich
businessman.
Other
lead
characters
are
played
by
Ranbir
Kapoor
and
Anushka
Sharma.
The
film
Bombay
Velvet
is
a
neo
noir
drama
based
on
the
story
of
how
Mumbai
became
a
metropolis
against
the
backdrop
of
love,
greed,
violence
and
music.
Anurag
Kashyap's
Bombay
Velvet
is
set
to
release
on
the
Christmas
Day.
Earlier
there
was
likely
to
be
a
clash
between
Bombay
Velvet
and
Aamir
Khan
starring
PK
as
both
the
films
were
supposed
to
be
released
on
the
same
date
of
December
25,
however
makers
of
PK
have
preponed
its
release
to
December
19.
