The film Total Siyapaa is all about a love story of an Indian girl and a Pakistani guy and hence, there were speculations that the film will have to undergo rigorous censoring by the Censor Board of Film Certification. However the board passed the film with UA certificate with just changing one dialogue and removing a love scene.
Director of the movie Total Siyapaa, E. Niwas informed that the one line which the censor board wanted to change was "Hum Pakistan ko lete rehte hai". "The board wanted us to beep out the word 'lete' but we chose to change the entire line and now the dialogue says-Hum Pakistan se ladte rehte hai", said the director. The other suggested change was removal of a love making scene at a work place on which Niwas said that he had no objections in making the suggested changes.
"We expected a lot more censoring by the board but we are glad that the board realised that we were not doing any serious stuff on Indo-Pak relations. There is a message but it's a very light take on the relations between the two countries. it's not a film with a political agenda, rather it's a story of two lovers represented in a humorous manner," said Niwas.
Having cleared the Indian Censor Board very smoothly, now Total Siyapaa makers will hope to get the film passed in Pakistan as well.
