Watch: Priyanka Chopra Clean Up Versova, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Priyanka Chopra was one of the chosen Bollywood celebrity who got nominated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The actress was proud to be nominated a chose to clean up a slum area in Versova.

Priyanka said, "When Prime Minister asked me to be one of his navratna, I was very excited but I wanted it to be something that gets sustained. I chose this place in Versova where Agneepath shooting took place. I used to see children pay on heaps of garbage and that is their life."

She further added, "We are a bunch of cynical people who wonder how are we going to clean this up. But my plan is to not just clean up this place but to rehabilitate as well. After this it is up to them to sustain it, the idea behind this is to create something long lasting and hope for the best that it stays that way."

After a day of hard work cleaning the garbage in Versova, she said, "I will put my entire resources into cleaning this place up and rehabilitate it for the people who live here and make sure we do as much as we can."

Speaking about the campaign Priyanka said, "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is not just about cleaning the place and saying I am done with my social responsibilities but to change yourself and not just keep your house clean but keep your community and country clean."

The clean up began and after 16 days of non-stop activity from Priyanka Chopra and her team, the Versova slum area got a drastic makeover. The actress on the unveiling day requests all people staying in the area to just maintain the cleanliness in the area.
