Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to hit the screen with her comeback film Jazbaa but the actress has reportedly grabbed another powerful role in the upcoming Sarabjit Singh biopic.
It has been reported that, Aishwarya has been roped in to play the role of Dalbir Kaur in the biopic which is being directed by Omung Kumar.
Sarabjit Singh happens to be the later farmer who was imprisoned by Pakistan after he mistakenly crossed over the border in 1990. He was brutally tortured for 23 years in jail and eventually was killed by the jail inmates.
Omung Kumar has decided to make a biopic on the same and Aishwarya Rai will reportedly play the role of Sarabjit Singh's 61-year-old sister.
As reported, makers of the upcoming biopic approached several actresses like Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra for the role of Dalbir Kaur, but finally Aishwarya grabbed the opportunity.
Aishwarya, who recently made an impressive presence at the Cannes Film Festival, will be seen in Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa which also features Irrfan Khan and Shabana Azmi.
