Akshay Kumar Is A Self Made Man, Has No Problem With The Khans' Monopoly!

Almost every year, the big Khans' of Bolywood such as, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, always manage to get their movies released on special occasions, such as national festivals like Diwali, Eid and Christmas.

While all festival releases are booked by the Khans', actors like Akshay Kumar still manage to thrive despite his movie being released on non-festival dates. Akshay, does not seem to have a problem at all, about the issue, and believes his work can get the desired results, any time of the year.

Akshay Kumar was quoted as saying,

"Everybody does it. They book it for one-two years in advance. Hum toh kabhi bhi aa jate hai. There's nothing wrong also. That's absolutely fine. Everyone has the choice to release their films whenever they want to. And if their films get the holiday release dates, it's good for them."

Upon further questioning, the actor was to quick to reply,

"Kuch bachta hi nahi hai hai apne liye. Republic Day bachta hai isliye Airlift aa rahi hai."

When asked, won't that hurt the box office collections, Akshay Kumar promptly replied as,

"I don't see that as a point. I just release my films when my director, my producer and my distributor is ready. So it doesn't matter."

Akshay Kumar's Airlift

Airlift, starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur, is all set to hit the theatres on January 22, 2015. The movie is produced by Nikhil Advani and based on a real life incident during the 1990 war between Iraq and Kuwait.

The storyline is of a rich man named Ranjit Kaytal, who is stranded in Kuwait, like every other Indian citizen. The Government of India, rescues every Indian and gets them back to Mumbai.
