Akshay
Kumar
is
all
set
to
appear
on
the
big
screen
with
the
movie
Gabbar
Is
Back
which
happens
to
be
an
action
drama.
Gabbar
Is
Back,
for
obvious
reasons,
has
been
compared
with
the
block-buster
Sholay,
but
the
makers
of
the
film
have
been
claiming
that
there
is
no
similarity
between
the
two
films.
The
plot
of
Gabbar
Is
Back
is
based
on
the
concept
of
corruption
and
Akshay
Kumar
plays
the
role
of
Gabbar
who
he
is
the
hero
of
the
film,
unlike
Gabbar
in
Sholay.
While,
makers
of
Gabbar
Is
Back
claimed
that
this
movie
is
not
inspired
from
Sholay,
we
have
been
wondering
why
they
chose
to
name
the
character
as
'Gabbar'.
In
an
exclusive
interview
with
Filmibeat,
Akshay
Kumar
reveals
the
first
scene
of
the
film
and
how
his
character
became
known
as
Gabbar
in
the
film.
Akki
reveals
that
the
name
'Gabbar'
came
into
his
mind
during
shooting
of
the
first
scene
of
the
film.
Apparently,
Akshay
Kumar
was
shooting
for
scene
and
Sholay
was
being
played
in
the
background
which
inspired
the
name,
which
otherwise
is
not
his
real
name
in
the
movie.
"Gabbar
Is
Back
starts
from
a
scene
in
which
I
am
writing
a
letter
to
the
higher
authority
about
some
corruption.
At
the
end
of
the
letter,
I
was
thinking
about
what
name
shall
I
put
at
the
bottom
while,
Sholay
was
being
played
in
the
background.
Then
I
heard
the
famous
Gabbar
dialogue
and
I
wrote
'Gabbar'
on
the
letter
too.
That
is
how
this
name
came.
But
it
has
nothing
to
do
with
Sholay," said
Akshay
Kumar
when
asked
about
why
is
he
known
as
Gabbar
in
the
film.
Directed
by
Krish,
Akshay
Kumar's
Gabbar
Is
Back
also
features
Shruti
Haasan,
Kareena
Kapoor
in
a
small
role,
Sonu
Sood
and
Prakash
Raj.
The
film
is
slated
to
release
on
May
1st.
