Ranbir
Kapoor
and
Anushka
Sharma
starrer
Bombay
Velvet
is
one
of
the
most
hyped
films
of
this
year
for
multiple
reasons.
Apart
from
Anurag
Kashyap's
direction,
Bombay
Velvet
also
has
a
strong
and
interesting
star
cast
as
Karan
Johar
is
making
his
acting
debut
with
this
film.
However,
it
is
interesting
to
know
that
Ranbir
Kapoor,
Anushka
Sharma
and
Karan
Johar
were
not
the
first
choices
of
Anurag
Kashyap
for
the
film.
Apparently,
Anurag
Kashyap
had
the
script
of
Bombay
Velvet
ready
almost
10
years
ago
and
the
director
then
had
a
completely
different
star
cast
in
his
head.
As
reported,
the
director
wanted
to
cast
Saif
Ali
Khan,
Hirthik
Roshan,
Kareena
Kapoor
and
Aamir
Khan
for
Bombay
Velvet
which
now
has
Ranbir
Kapoor,
Anushka
Sharma
and
Karan
Johar
in
lead
roles.
In
fact,
Anurag
Kashyap
did
approach
Saif,
Hrithik,
Kareena
and
Aamir
but
none
of
them
paid
heed
to
his
script
then.
The
director
himself
revealed
this
fact
saying
that
he
was
not
a
much
known
face
in
the
industry
at
that
time
and
so
the
stars
might
have
rejected
his
offer.
The
Bombay
Velvet
director
further
stated
that
Saif
Ali
Khan
directly
refused
to
read
the
script
and
others
also
paid
least
attention
to
the
story.
Nevertheless,
Anurag
Kashyap
is
happy
to
cast
Ranbir
Kapoor,
Anushka
Sharma
and
Karan
Johar
for
Bombay
Velvet
and
feels
that
the
roles
were
made
for
them.
