Saif
Ali
Khan
is
in
news
for
the
2012
assault
case
whereby
the
actor
was
accused
of
hitting
an
NRI.
While,
Saif
remained
absent
at
the
hearing
held
yesterday,
the
Court
has
granted
a
last
chance
to
the
actor
to
be
present
at
the
next
hearing.
Saif
Ali
Khan
along
with
two
friends
allegedly
assaulted
one
NRI
Iqbal
Sharma
and
his
father-in-law
on
February
22nd,
2012.
The
case
is
still
in
process
and
Saif
Ali
Khan's
repeated
absence
at
the
hearings
apparently
made
the
Court
very
disappointed.
Saif
Ali
Khan
was
supposed
to
attend
the
hearing
on
Monday
but
he
gave
it
a
miss
and
the
actor's
lawyer
filed
an
exemption
application
stating
that
Saif
is
currently
abroad
for
an
ad
film's
shoot.
Meanwhile,
the
prosecutor
not
only
objected
to
the
application
but
also
demanded
that
a
warrant
be
issued
against
Saif
Ali
Khan.
While,
the
next
hearing
is
on
June
18th,
the
Court
stated
that
if
Saif
fails
to
be
present
at
the
next
hearing
of
the
case,
a
warrant
is
likely
to
be
issued
against
him.
It
is
to
be
recalled,
Saif
Ali
Khan
along
with
his
two
friends
Bilal
Amrohi
and
Shakkel
Ladak
were
arrested
after
a
case
was
filed
by
the
NRI
alleging
assault
at
a
restaurant
in
Taj
Hotel.
The
complaint
stated
that
Saif
and
his
friends
punched
the
NRI
and
fractured
his
nose
while,
they
also
assaulted
his
father-in-law
when
he
objected
to
Saif's
loud
voice
at
the
restaurant.
Saif
and
his
friends
pleaded
innocence
and
were
later
released
on
bail.
Saif
Ali
Khan
claimed
that
the
brawl
started
after
the
NRI
made
abusive
comments
on
Kareena
Kapoor
and
Karisma
Kapoor
who
were
also
accompanying
them
at
the
restaurant.
