Amitabh Bachchan, actor Irrfan Khan, Deepika Padukone, director Shoojit Sircar among others were present at the trailer launch of their upcoming film Piku.
At the trailer launch Deepika Padukone, Amitabh and Irrfan spoke at length apart from director Shoojit Sircar.
Actress Deepika said, "Women will relate to Piku so much as I play a working girl who takes care of her father. Shoojit just narrated one scene and I said yes to the film."
She also said interesting facts about director Shoojit Sircar. She said, "When one works with Shoojit, they can't ignore anything about Bengali. Piku is born in Kolkata but grown up in Delhi. So it's a mixed character."
"Even in real life I'm more like Piku worrying about my parents health and other things. So most of my character is gone into Piku," she added.
About Amitabh Bachchan and working with him, Deepika said, "I have known Amitji outside our work. The chemistry came to us very naturally. The way he is proactive is like my parents are with me."
Amitabh Bachchan told an interesting fact about how the name Piku came. He said, "From Deepika it became Deepiku. All the promotional ideas for the film is from everyone. More than the story, this movie is about the character. So we wanted to make it more intense."
He also said the press conference was scheduled today to enjoy and watch India-Australia semifinal match tomorrow.
Actor Irrfan Khan said, "It was a great experience for me to share the screen with Mr. Bachchan. Amitabh is the role model for everyone who aspire to be an actor. Even Amitji himself doesn't know how great he is.
"Deepika's parents would be very happy and proud about her. It's an honour to have a daughter like Deepika," Irrfan praised actress Deepika.
The movie is set to release on May 8, 2015.
